Why does Isaac skim over leather?  His over the knee boot was only 40% leather.  The rest some kind of stretch polyester he couldn't even describe.  He called it a stretch thingie. Yet it still cost over $170.00.  I was looking for a pair in leather or suede tall boots. I have slim legs so I don't need any stretch to put my legs in boots.  I normally would have gone to Nordstrom but they were picked over and gone.  I finally ordered a pair from Holsten.  This apparently is all leather.  A rare occasion forQVC to offer.  Nearly all leather goods  are not all leather. QVC does a lot of this and I wish they would stop. Jackets that are "mixed meda" are a code for I can't make this in all leather for that price.  Leather has skyrocketed in price the last few years.  But I'm willing to buy good quality leather.  ALL leather.

I agree with you songbird.  Boots which have leather only on the shin is not not a good look, and certainly not worth $170 ($200 with tax and s&h).   That spandex band really cheapens the look of the boots.  I'd buy a good looking all faux leather before I put that spandex band on my legs.  I don't care for the sales pitch that the band helps accommodate more calve widths. It would make more sense to me for the boots to be made "all leather" -- in two shaft widths.  That said, Isaac and whomever is hosting his show will always try to convince the customer that his leather and construction is equivalent to boots selling for more than $600, so even at QVC pricing were they all leather the price would be at least $300.

I especially dislike the wide/calf/medium/god knows what/for boots.  I don't need any stretch.  Most of my boots I get in department stores anyway.  I have never seen any of the mumbo jumbo stretch stuff passing itself off as leather.  I'm looking forward to the Haltsen one.  This is the one in all suede and grey.  My favorite color in boots!

I agree . I think ALL leather with some gussets, buckles or shoestrings to accomadate  the wider calf, or G forbid an actual design to fit, would be far superior.

I don't want any boot that has elastic for the back, period! Not a good look, no matter who the designer is. Same for jackets.

I won't buy any boot from anybody that uses elastic material in the back.  I think it looks hideous.  I don't find it a "fashion statement" at all.  I bought a pair of totally leather boots back when i was in college, they were incredible.  I wore them ALL the time, wore them for years and years and years.  They were a riding boot with a strap and buckle over the instep.  I wore them until they were far out of style.....  I've had wonderful boots since, all lasting forever.  The only advantage I can see to all this elastic material is to the designer/manufacturer in that it saves them big bucks in not using more leather.....

I agree. I prefer all-leather boots, even if l have to pay a little more for them.

This leather loving lady agrees. I wasn't aware that the OTK boots had a stretch fabric backing. I am not a fan of those pieces with the ponte fabric in the back or sides. Most shown on QVC, even the other shopping channels, are not 100% leather. I'm willing to pay for a fine leather skirt, pants, or jacket.
