There appears to be a cycle on FB.
1) Host wears outfit/accessories on air that may or may not be from QVC.
2) People write on the FB page asking about item(s). People also write looking for items that X model was wearing with X item from the show.
3) Host does not answer questions, but sometimes other viewers post the item number (if a Q item) or the store that carries the "wanted" item.
4) Viewers repeatedly ask THE SAME questions about X item(s) and host does not respond, so they write on subsequent days expressing their displeasure/frustration with the host.
5) Helpful viewers post the information on where to find THE item or similar items, and those posts are poofed from the host's FB page, but speculative/nasty/argumentative posts remain.
6) Viewer sets up a new account, comes to the Q boards to find help with the item(s) and then posters/mods tell them to go to the hosts' FB pages.
What is the point of this ongoing cycle?![]()
People come to the page for information, they receive none and are exposed to infighting between "fans".
I have also seen posts asking about X item, which IS a QVC item, and neither CS nor the host know anything about it.
IMO, this is not an productive use of FB. The host should have someone who monitors and responds to posts, or the hosts should not solicit questions on the page as they are not answered.
Every time there is a fashion show, people will write over and over asking the same question, even though it has already been answered by someone else.

Really good observation. I agree with your analysis.

Good observation and good that you posted. Don't know if it will change anything, but at least you got your point across. I see on HSN they post the information on the items the hosts are wearing. Obviously they are wearing clothing items from HSN stock. Now I know everyone wants to express themselves in their personal dressing, but if I were Q management I'd make a change. IF they are selling us clothing that is soooo great for showers, weddings, work, picnics, etc etc etc., surely they can dress the hosts in appropriate clothing from the Q's huge wardrobe. That way, if someone sees it on a host, likes it, then they can order it. Seems smart business to me.

The only Facebook page that seems to get answers from the Mods is the QVC Facebook page, not the hosts Facebook.

Leah, Courtney and Amy are pretty good about saying that something is NOT a Q item, but some of them are wise enough to suggest a Q item that is similar. Leah often does this as she has a large shoe size and some of the shoes aren't available in her size (or that size is sold out). Amy did this with her J. Crew flame pumps that everyone still asks about.
I have read some of the comments, and sometimes people will ask about one host in particular. The items are nearly always high end, and then if/when someone finds THE item, the person will sometimes write back and state that it's too expensive.
Knowing that the average Q viewer is probably NOT going to spend $500 on a skirt, why not have the host suggest something that is similar for purchase? There are some that are looking for "dupes" and others who MUST HAVE that exact item (lipstick, nail polish color, rings, boots, etc.) that the host wore.
I found this item, for example, that is a dupe for the host's boots that many people were asking about. They're leather and on sale for $72.99. That is in most of the Q viewer's expectations for leather boots, IMO.

I think it promotes goodwill when someone answers and knowing that the original item is too expensive, it at least makes the viewer feel "connected" by being able to wear a style that their favorite host likes.

I have seen "Reba" respond when they are doing a FB Live chat, and sometimes the vendor will chime in if the host has linked the vendor's post/video to her page.

I agree with you
IMO I would like to see the hosts pages be managed by someone dedicated to the task not the host in order to manage these types of questions, and to avoid some of the nonsense that goes on.

I also think that with three channels- Beauty IQ, QVC and QVC2, they are going to have more traffic on the hosts' pages asking about various items. The one that has me literally shaking my head is the constant accessorizing of outfits with this SG necklace that is not available.

My observation of the Q through the years is that actually the CUSTOMERS are the one's pushing the Q. The customers are more apt to answers other customers' questions.
The customers are the one's that suggest what the Q should do. The customers are the one's who are asking for the item numbers. The customers are complaining what some hosts wear and apparently the management of the Q really doesn't care.
The Q must be really really profitable or they actually would do something about it.
I don't do FB anymore and it's not only the Q, there are many companies that ignore their FB pages and don't get back to customers.

Good point @lolakimono. I've often wondered why these shopping channels don't have a "liaison" type person who can coordinate products shown, worn or sold on air and on the website (or fb) with customers who want information about the items. This kind of person would be a specialist in the field, specifically working to provide product info even if those products are not sold on the network. Customer service agents are not always completely knowledgeable or not aware of fb demands.
