Re: Inconsistent sizing a serious problem

I find sizes are all over the place no matter who the designer (or store brand) is. It is truly frustrating.

I agree. I used to like the stretch denim pants but now they are a different fabrication, they do not fit the same, and they pill terribly. I will no longer purchase items from the Denim and Co. brand

Re: Inconsistent sizing a serious problem

I guess I should amend my thoughts to include all manufacturers and acknowledge that each and every one has sizing issues. Years ago I could buy clothing and shoes without the need to try anything on. Today that idea would be totally stupid. I wear anything from an 8 to a 14 in clothing and in shoes a 6.5 to an 8. So today it makes much better sense for me to shop at B&M stores than ordering online.

Truth be known, my main problem with ordering clothing from QVC is I am tired of having to go through the motions of returning something and having to pay almost $7.00 to return something that should have fit but didn't.

I agree with annabellethecat, who said that the sleeves are always too long. They usually come down past my fingertips. This isn't usually true in the B&M stores.

Re: Inconsistent sizing a serious problem

Sizing generally, as well as inconsistent sizing and changes in sizing between back-in-stock runs, is why I have never bought clothing from QVC. To begin with, I have never been one who could purchase off the rack without trying on. Add to that QVC's tendency to over-size everything in their own brands so that a person who routinely wears a 12 in mainstream b&m stores will wear 8-10 in QVC sizes, the different sizing from vendor lines, AND the shipping charges and time wasted shipping wrongly-sized items to-and-fro, and I'm just not willing to bother to try. Not to mention most of their own lines are overpriced. It's just zero incentive to me.

Inconsistent sizing has been an issue with other QVC clothing brands. Quality control just doesn't seem to be what it used to be. They don't even talk about quality control on air like they used to do.

Re: Inconsistent sizing a serious problem

It isn't just the Q. Several years ago, a tailor told my dh that he had to try on all 3 pairs of pants that he was buying to figure out alterations on each one, even though they were the same pants. The reason? He said it was NAFTA. Manufacturers are allowed to have a 2 inch variance either way, yet call something the same size. In other words, you can have something in a size 8, & one can be 2 inches smaller, and another 2 inches larger! Even manufacturers who used to be more consistent, are within the rules for sizing.

I am done buying clothing from Denim &co. The sizing is so inconsistent anymore. It used to be reliable, but now the XS becomes a S and now a M? And do women who wear a M rather than a S really have arms that much longer? What has happened to the QC with QVC?

If you have the time, post this in the QVC Suggestion Box section. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Don't you just love it when you order 2 (same) of anything and they are 2 different sizes? Brand doesn't seem to matter this problem is throughout the clothing industry now. Quality control has gone away!

I literally have dozens upon dozens of garments, many in different colors of the same item, and this has never happened to me. I think people exaggerate shamelessly on these "let's criticize Denim & Co." threads.

Gosh, I thought I was the only one having sizing problems with D&C. I am a large gal and in the past always wore a large, now I have to size up and sometimes get a medium. Quality control is not what it used to be and return fees add up.

Like you, I have dozens of garments (D&C), all purchased over the last few years, but the items I purchased in 2013 & 2014 were poorly sized and I had to exchange or return. I certainly would not post just to be critical.
