I was just cruising the Nordstrom site, not really looking for anything, just checking out the sale. Long story short, I saw a leopard print moto jacket with a faux shearling collar and it was love at first sight. Sometimes you just know that if you pass something up you will regret it, so it is coming home to me. It was in the budget so I don’t feel guilty, just happy. Anyone else make an impulsive purchase lately ?

I am the queen of impulse buyers, if I see something I think I'm going to love, I don't hesitate to buy.

Nothing recently, but I can empathize with you.

One thing I learned to do after my husband died suddenly is to make peace with what I've done that day.

What I mean is I don't look back.  If I buy something that I really wanted, then I don't like it or it was on impulse and I no longer want it....I either send it back or give it away.

I have given away so many things you have no idea.  Some were impulse some were "Well, it seemed like a good idea at the moment".

There are very few regrets in my life.  Whatever I've bought (or not) has never been any part of the regrets.

In order to be happy in life and not live in the regret zone, a person needs to make peace with themselves.

It sounds like you really like the item and I'll bet you'll look good in it.

I always tell my girls, "Any fool can pay a lot of money for something.  The best purchases are the one's where YOU feel like you got what YOU wanted at the price YOU wanted to pay".

Here's a forinstance.  Sometimes on QVC I'll see something and want to get it but my color or size is sold out.  I just move on because I sure don't need anymore clothes and feel like, "it was meant to be'....forget about it...and so I do.

Enjoy your purchases.  Put that thing on and think..."Um...I'm all 'that'.."  Even say it out loud (when no one's around...)...come on..say it..."I'm all that".  Now believe it.

There you go.  I wish I could see you in it.  I'm sure you'll be 'lookin' good'.  Take care sweet girl.

In recent years I've been consciously trying to control impulse purchases, but I've been there done that.  @QVCkitty1  I might categorize you jacket as more of a must have which may not see again type of thing. In instances such as this I give myself a pass and consider it money well spent for something I'm sure will be worn and loved.

@Annabellethecat66 , thank you for the kind words. I think it will look sharp, I may be old, but I like to jazz it up once in awhile. Thanks again. 🌺

There are days when I do a great job of resisting the urge to buy something but today was not one of them. I purchased a couple of rings that I know I did not need but could not resist (IT Was A Good Deal). Working on getting help for tomorrow.Woman Wink

I think the key to my enjoying impulse purchases is in your statement, "It was in the budget..." It's fun to "seize the day" once in awhile but it has to be within my budget--buyer's remorse is a buzz kill. I recently bought a black wire pillar candle holder, which I need about as much as I need more Christmas stuff, and it pleases me every time I look at it.

Edited: your jacket sounds adorable!

I don't usually impulse buy, BUT I bought a SUP ( stand up paddle board) and it was delivered this week.  I plan on giving it a trial run this coming weekend.

I have bad knees, but I have been looking at these boards for a few years.  Wish me luck!
