Re: I'm So Sick of Koolaburra. What Has Happened To Lamo Boots?

Koolaburra and Cuddl Duds are interchangable to me. I can appreciate comfy lounge clothes, but QVC is going overboard with it. The programming is getting pretty stale.

QVC seems to be pushing "The" name that rings a bell to some people as expensive. UGG makes boots, I get it. I can buy them if I want but don't. I have always loved the Lamo boots the Q used to sell. I have them in a few colors and styles. They are waterproof and very nicely made. And I know the size I am in this brand. I found them to be great and the price was reasonable for such a great product. Koolaburra by UGG is just a knock off product and not great. Won't be buying any of there higher priced boots with less quality than Lamo IMO. Where else are Lamo boots sold? Anyone know? Thanks

@White Picket Fence   You can get Bearpaw boots at HSN which are similar to Lamo and are treated to be permanently water resistant.  They come in pretty colors and interesting styles at a similar price point.  They also have a shearling footbed and are lined with a shearling/synthetic product making then very warm.  I like them better than Lamo.

Koolaburra  products seem to be about the same quality as Cuddl Duds.  No way do they resemble Uggs.

Another Bearpaw fan here.

I don't have any of their boots but I have 2 pairs of slippers that I got last year after toe surgery when I couldn't fit in shoes.

I wore them day and night.  Now, a year later, I only wear them at home, but they look brand new.

Any other slipper I've ever bought is pretty much destroyed by mid season.

Re: I'm So Sick of Koolaburra. What Has Happened To Lamo Boots?

QVC presents Koolaburra as equal to Uggs...Uggs sister.  Koolaburra is lower quality, lower priced.

The other day, hosts were treating Canada's Cougar's Bean or Duck boots TSV as originators of this style boots.  It was the founder of LL. Bean in the United States.

From "Outdoorlife" magazine

"While duck boots have a somewhat fashion-based reputation today, the first duck boots were developed in 1912 after Leon Leonwood Bean found that his regular hunting boots weren’t cutting in the wet and cold of Maine. When he got back from one fabled hunting trip, he set about combining rubber boots with a leather upper, and started to sell them soon after. This became the first product sold by the company known today as L.L.Bean.'

Similar to calling IT cosmetics the most popular cosmetics company in the U.S.  It happens to be Loreal.  They purchased IT cosmetics.  IT was not the most popular before that purchase.

Let's tell the truth, QVC.

I love Uggs. Tried Lamo years ago & they were not comfortable. My orthopedist who specializes in foot problems only does not like Uggs. The shearling retains moisture & promotes fungus & they offer no support. I wear them only outside for short intervals & have them cleaned periodically. Can’t give up my Uggs.

@chrystaltree @QVC does not own Koolaburra by UGG.   It is a national brand and available at many retail stores, such as Kohls, Zappos and Amazon.

@Stray   It's true Uggs offer no support and I don't find them very comfortable for walking.  However, that shearling makes them very warm if you tend to have cold feet.  Love any kind of shearling lined footwear.
