Re: I am seeing a lot of faux suede

I bought 3 pairs of faux suede slim leg/front seam pants in chocolate brown before the pandemic at our Bargain Spot store for $4.00 each.  Two pairs I kept & the 3rd pair, I took to our St. Vincent's Store for somebody else to enjoy.  They wash like a dream and I hang them on my clothesline to dry.  They still look brand new and are so nice and warm in our colder weather.

Re: I am seeing a lot of faux suede

I still have 2 faux suede Linea jackets and 1 pair of his faux suede slacks.  Retired several years ago and though I temp in an office, I would look way out of place dressed like that.

I have been trying to sell one of the jackets on Poshmark, no luck yet.

I live in an extremely casual area now.

@roeroe1005 - I also have 2 of the Linea jackets. I LIVE in them! I also have his pants. I've always loved suede. The first time my mom came up north to visit me at college she brought a dark brown suede jacket. I loved it and wore it all of the time. I kept it a long time!  Smiley Happy

Re: I am seeing a lot of faux suede

Faux suede is much easier to care for.

Real suede:  Every little spot shows up.

I believe there are washable faux suede  options.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: I am seeing a lot of faux suede

I have a washable suede Dennis Basso moto jacket.  It's heavier than I expected and don't wear it a lot although it's very nice.

I've also got a mixed media black faux suede/faux leather skirt.  I do have a very old real leather skirt too.

I'm not a fan of skin tight faux leather pants though.  Looks cheap to me, as in my father used to say he didn't like a lot of makeup on women because it made them look cheap.

@ROMARY

I agree.  I have had many suede jackets and 2 coats.  I have several faux suede jackets and pants.  I much prefer faux suede jackets because they are much lighter weight and clean up so easily. I love the suede I have but I would not buy any more based on how well faux suede has done  But I am not a fan of faux leather.

Re: I am seeing a lot of faux suede

It's a very inexpensive fabric and- when you cut it, it doesn't fray, so very easy to work with!
Last year I got a Colleen Lopez snap shirt-Jack for a song and dance at end of season! Look for sales!
