Brook Shield's coat while attractive, is rather expensive. Every single one of my coats (with the exception of my puffers) were purchased for less than hers even my Tommy Hilfger but I may have hit a good sale on that one.

It's all in the terminology. If the materials were called "fake" leather, or "fake" wool , etc., no one would buy them. But use the fancy French word "faux" instead, and suddenly the clothing sounds like it's better quality and more expensive. Lol.

And call them the actual materials they are-- vinyl or acrylic, etc., and they also seem less desirable.

...Just a couple of marketing and sales ploys that seem to work.

@sidsmom You've left "down alternative" off your list for use in pillows and comforters as the polyester substitute for down. Not nearly as warm as down.
