I don't think it's a matter of age. I think it's a matter of body shape. If you are tall enough, lean enough, they can look great. Otherwise, I say stay away from leggings!

I am a VERY young 64. I say that because, as my 97 yr old mother always says, age is a state of mind. I think she is correct - there are people who think life ends at 60 and behave and look accordingly, and there are people like myself who look and act a lot younger than they are because they have a young outlook on life. I will wear leggings with tunics as long as I feel comfortable doing so. They both hide a multitude of sins and are so much more comfortable than jeans. I disagree that only thin people should wear leggings. Like any article of clothing and fashion choice, as long as they fit properly they can work for you. The problem arises when a size 18 tries to squeeze themselves into a size 12. There are also less expensive leggings that are made of very thin material and therefore show every lump and bump. So I guess I'm saying, used with common sense, leggings can be a fashion choice on just about anyone of any age. Enjoy!

The older you are the better. Cover up the varicose veins.

Wear whatever makes you happy, and don't look to others for approval. Life it way too short to constantly be looking for the approval of a small but very vocal group of super critical, intolerant, snippy people on these boards who will tell you leggings are "stupid," "unflattering," "trying too hard," etc. Do what you want with confidence and you will look good.

Like others have said, I think it depends on the shape of the body instead of the age. I don't care for the look when it makes the legs look like big sausage links.

You certainly don't need anyone's approval to wear what makes you happy. I'm going to be 65 in a couple of weeks, and I've come to realize, the older that I get that....that this life of mine is no dress rehearsal. You enjoy every moment that you can, and don't worry about pleasing anyone else, especially in terms of the superficial....and many things in our life that we spend way too much time being concerned about...are superficial.

Wise words. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Wear what makes you happy. Life is too short to worry about what others think. Happy New Year.

If you're thin, no problem. It's body type rather then age.

My rule of thumb is whether I feel comfortable leaving the house in an outfit. If you think you'll feel foolish wearing something in public, there's your answer.

I think it depends on body type not age. I am tall with thin legs - I look better in dark or colored jeans than leggings. I don't think everyone needs to follow every trend. If you are comfortable wearing them in public then go for it.
