Apparently, horizontal stripes are in. I'm seeing them all over the place. Now I'm maybe 10 pounds overweight and I wouldn't touch horizontal stripes with a ten foot pole. I like to look my best and I think there are many other options out there other than horizontal stripes to accomplish that.

I just heard Linda Davies say, "We used to think horizontal stripes made us look bigger, but that's simply not true anymore. (In fact) prints and stripes can camouflage."

This is very true for some prints, but IMO it is absolutely not true for horizontal stripes. Take a look at A230683:

Now don't you think IF someone wanted to wear horizontal stripes they would want the thicker stripes on top and the thinner stripes on the bottom? {#emotions_dlg.blink}

So are you wearing this trend or staying away from it?

I love stripes, and was just telling BF that I contemplated that one in yellow many moons ago but I got this one instead:

I have both of these from LCNY too. A224280

If its the right placement hozo stripes can be quite flattering.

Look at this video which has a sneak peek of a striped sweater coming up later this season from Linea. Doubt this one will make anyone look bigger.

Yeah..... not for me either. Kudos to those who can pull it off.At 25 pounds overweight, I don't think anyone can tell me I look good in them.

Like every other fashion trend, it really depends on your body. My waist really is the smallest part of my body, and horizontal stripes show it off perfectly (something like the last picture above - you can see where the stripes are shorter at the waist). If you don't have a waist, they are not going to give you one, and may accentuate its absence.

OTOH, about 90% of my weight is in my thighs, making trendy skinny jeans a disaster for me. It's all about what works for you.

It depends on the stripe. Jayne Brown had on a stripped top this morning and she looked great in it.

I've never understood the thinking that universally, horizontal stripes make everyone look fat.

I wear horizontal stripes ... always have and probably always will.

I don't obsess over styles/designs. If I think it looks good ... I wear it.

I like that nautical look but only like the ones which are thin and very close together.
