I recently had surgery and have a large piece of metal (it's called a halo, but there's nothing angelic about it!!) inserted below my left knee to my ankle. Unfortunately, it will be a permanent fixture until next spring. I've managed to remain halfway fashionable this summer with stretchable shorts and skorts, but with fall and winter coming up, I'm trying to figure out what in the world I'm going to wear....I wanted some of the TSV's so badly, but even with the stretch, there's no way I'll get them over this device. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I might be able to wear and still remain fashionable (at least a little!)?? I teach on the college level, so I need to be able wear something presentable. Even though I live in south GA, I don't think shorts are going to cut it all winter long. And sweat pants aren't going to look so great in the classroom or on a girls night out. I've thought about shorter dresses, but I'm not exactly sure how I'll cover the one leg (beginning to think it might not happen). Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
