Just for fun, let's talk hand me downs!

Did you wear hand me downs growing up?

Do you hand down your clothes (or kids' clothes) to others?

Did you have a favorite (or memorable) piece of clothing that was handed down?

I wondered if the declining quality of clothing is going to affect the practice of hand me downs in fashion.

I was the only girl, so I didn't have too many hand me downs. I did, however, have older cousins who lived cross country, and every so often my aunt would pack up giant boxes of their clothing and ship them to me. It was fun to look at the different fashions, things that weren't available where I lived, and pick and choose what I wanted to try on first. Because they lived far away, no one knew they were hand me downs and they shopped at places with excellent quality. They were avid skiers, so I got a lot of ski clothes that I could use in my snowy climate for all those winter activities- snowball fights, sledding, shoveling, etc.
