I totally agree. However, if they really make half a million and up for such a relatively easy job, then no wonder they hold on to this job as long as they can. Not saying talking in front of the camera is super easy, but it doesn't require too much energy or stress.....

tough_kitty, selling is a very demanding & stressful job. Esp. when U R as devoted and good as Lisa is. Don't belittle & judge because U don't have a clue!

Yes, It is my first post..Just saying I think she was done wrong

Okay, I give up ...... just how do you know she was "done wrong" ?? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Maybe Lisa's contract is up in December and she chose not to renew ...... she's put in 20 years, and that's enough for anyone!

IMO, Lisa has made a LOT of interesting contacts in the past 20 years, and I'm sure she'll have at least a few offers to choose from. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Cool absolutely, I watch for the products and the only thing stopping me from watching so much is the "same old, same old" I really do not care who hosts, but give us some new products to choose from! A HOST is certianly not reason enough for me to stay with QVC>

(unless they brought in Jon BonJovi a a host, THEN I would be throwing my money at the screen!!!!)

I just wonder if she was approached by Melissa Rivers to step in for Joan's job. She would be an asset for that. Whatever she does I wish her well.

For crying out loud, leave the woman alone. She is not QVC and QVC is not Lisa. She is a salesperson on a tv shopping channel. Her so-called loyalty to viewers will end the minute she isn't depending on their purchases for her income.

{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Best post of the week!!! I absolutely agree -- viewers and shoppers mean nothing but $$$ to any host and QVC!!

Thousands of posts here - and I've love it if Lisa would stay.

However, why she's going is speculation. I haven't seen one post from anyone new or old which contains factual info that tells me what played out when or why.

Where she is going is speculation. Again no one who knows has spoken.

What will happen next at QVC is speculation. It's 11:36 am where I sit now and I have no idea what's for lunch let alone what the corporation will or even should do.

Best wishes to Lisa - that's not speculation.

TK, I don't think even the on-air part of the job is necessarily as easy as some of them make it look... I've seen so many host and host-trainees really struggle over the years and some don't make it and are moved out... Not to mention that the on-air part of the job is not by any stretch all there is to it... From what I understand there are host meetings, product meetings, vendor meetings, 'appearances' at events, and they have to study the products and product information materials, so they can speak somewhat fluidly about them on air. I'd agree, it ain't rocket science, but I probably wouldn't assess it as being a breeze, either...

And yep, it is definitely possible to open more than one account...

I don't think their job is as easy as some think either. According to many of the hosts, it's a lot of hours even if you are considered part-time. I know they have to be at QVC 3 hours before they go on air to meet with vendors and show planners and go over everything. It doesn't matter if it's a new vendor or a vendor like Dara Lynn who has been there a hundred times.

Then as you said there are TSV meetings, host meetings, product meetings, outside of QVC appearances and let's not forget all the meetings Lisa would have had for the GILI line.

I don't know if it's the same on QVC but one of the hosts on HSN mentioned that as hosts, they are required to read certain publications to keep themselves up to date on fashions and other hot ticket items.
