What has happened to George Simonton? He was a long-time regular but seems to have disappeared from view. Is he no longer with QVC?

I was wondering also. I love the fit of his clothes, he designs with the female body in mind. I miss him!

That's what it looks like. My semi-educated industry guess is that he could no longer produce the quality merchandise he was known for at the price points that QVC wants, and he appears to be the type of person who won't compromise on quality. Another issue might be that since he's a tenured professor at Fashion Institute of Technology, he may no longer have the time to devote to creating a line for QVC. Designing and manufacturing is a complicated, all-consuming proposition, and sometimes you have to make a choice. He's a talented man, regardless.

Could he just have chosen to semi-retire? How do we know it wasn't his choice not to sign a new contract? I have no idea of his age. I just googled him and didn't see it.

I did read the reviews from some of his students at FIT. Just like here, some were inspired, some weren't, some loved his classes, some said he was rude and condescending.

Also saw that there are plenty of other retailers selling him and having sales. I didn't even know he was in those stores!

I miss him as well. He had a message on his facebook page that his QVC contract was not renewed. I loved his line!!

Something happened to him in his last couple of years at QVC ... his styles / prints / color palette changed and the later stuff was just awful. Perhaps he just "lost his mojo."
