I liked him so much too and his clothes. He really knew how to design for women.

His tops always fit me the best of anyones and made me feel pretty. Gave me a waist even though I'm pretty much straight up and down!

The material, everything was made so well.

@alohakz

Your post made me smile. I haven't heard his name in a long time. I remember his clothing line at the Q. He seemed to be a very sincere and kind person in his presentations. I hope he's doing well.

He absolutely did!

My mom had so many QVC lines, from D&C, SG, Louis D, and all the old ones that don't exist anymore. But it was her GS tops that always flattered her the most. He built in shaping, design fit details that just flattered a woman, period!

I, myself, still have two tank/shells, one in blk, one royal blue, from him...still like new. But what I love about them is the flattering shape, the seams, the sweetheart neckline, that just are beautifully feminine, and as you say flatter a woman's body.

I also used to love his presentations, his flamboyant attire, and mostly, just like with Louis, Bob Mackie...I LOVED to listen to the REAL designers talk "shop" and how things were done in real design world. I mean, to her credit, SG knows her stuff in this way also.

That's so cool he called in. Glad he's still alive and well.

Re: George Simonton called in...

I think I am remembering this correctly.

He said that women are looking for tops.

Most of us have settled on our favorite bottoms and need to complete the outfit.

I shop mostly tops.
