i mostly buy ruanas, capes, ponchos now. they are so much more comfortable and work well when i am driving. i like them to definitely be past my bootie and maybe to mid thigh. i dont get COLD too much anymore......the beauty of menopause. LOL

When I used to have to wait out in the freezing cold for a bus I had a down coat that came down to my ankles. When I was much older and my exposure was just running from the car to a door and back I had a peacoat. I think it depends on your exposure to the cold. Now I live in Florida and my winter coat is an above knee length trenchcoat,& even that is often too warm.

My favorite length is 3/4. Knee length or longer is an issue because I climb up into a Forerunner. I do have running boards, and I use 'em!

It depends on how cold and windy it is. For a normal day, just above the knee. When it's really cold and windy then just above ankle length.

When it really gets cold or if I need to travel north during winter, this is my coat.. Not me of course. Put on a pair of knee high or OTK boots and I can take on any winter weather.

For casual I usually wear a car coat length. For dress it's always a long coat.

I have coats of all lengths. I can't stand being hot so I rarely wear them...I wear a vest and sweater w/scarf and sometimes a packable down coat.

Reaaly freezing out I have some heftier down puffers. And faux fur similar to this one, no zipper has toggle closure. that keeps me warm even below 20 degrees wind chills of 0.

Menopause or no menopause I get very, very cold where I live. Yes, I'm post menopausal and I freeze when going outside! My 2 jackets are longer than finger-tip and I have one I just bought that is a bomber length. I need anything to keep me warm with our extreme winds coming in off the lakes.
