@ECBG There's a big difference between lazy and casual. I prefer casual....jeans, sweater and boots or sneakers.
Absolutely! Casual doesn't have the "sparkle" that comes from the "just rolled out of bed" look!!!!!
@ECBG I enjoy the panache of accessories, makeup and doing my hair even though the last two are quick and easy. Nothing like a scarf or belt or attention getting jewelry to complete an outfit and make you shine. There's no excuse for sloppy.
It only takes a minute to slide on an outfit, brush your hair and apply lipstick. It's self respect.

@Shanus @ECBG Can I jump in here with what I believe? How you dress also shows what you think of others. And if you care what they think of you and who you are.
Like the Lion's mane, our appearance says what we think of ourselves and who we want to be. It is a message and a very clear message to the rest of the world.
If you say "I don't care what people think of me" and dress that way, it's like making sure that others understand that. We dress for who we want to be and who we think we are. Respect goes both ways.
That's why I think going to church a person should be well dressed enough to show respect for their faith.
That's all just me. . . but it goes along with what you are saying.

It wouldn't be comfortable to wear jeans over my pj's. It would also be too bulky.

@Sooner I do believe in respect for dressing appropriately for where you're going, but at other times I dress for me, not others. I know that I wouldn't disrespect myself by going anywhere sloppy or unkempt.

@RoughDraft My first thought on seeing that picture was that the family stopped at the grocery store after church before going home. I grew up in the 50s and most people did not dress like that to go to the grocery store unless they were coming from work, church or some other social event.

@Shanus Maybe the reason a lot of people are angry now is that they go out looking bad, know it, and are not happy with themselves. Maybe it's a lack of price and self respect at the root of some of the issues.
A person who feels good about themselves is a lot more likely to be cnofident and comfortable with the world around them.

That makes sense @Buffalogal47 . I wasn't around in the 50's, but it seems strange that people got that dressed up to go to the grocery store back then. Right after church makes complete sense.

@Sooner I so agree with you. I know the pandemic was andis rough on a lot of people and they don't care how they look. Maybe they lost jobs/income and can't afford newer clothes, too, but they must have their clothing from before...that's much better than pjs.
