Re: FUNCTIONAL? USELESS? FASHIONABLE? UNATTRACTIVE?

Pockets in tops is something I've never stressed over. In fact I just bought 3 linen blouses from Costco that I love that have pockets. Not a fan of side pockets in skirts. Useless and just makes me look hippy.

No to chest pockets. I do like pockets on the seam that are closer to the waist.

Re: FUNCTIONAL? USELESS? FASHIONABLE? UNATTRACTIVE?

I am in my seventies and am pretty sure I have never bought a shirt with a chest pocket. I think it could result in injury or pain if something sharp or messy placed in it. DH has ruined many a shirt with a leaking pen.

I LOVE  side pockets in pants, dresses, coat, tunics etc. I have heard comments on the red carpet walkers of award show say gleefully about thier designer dresses-- it has pockets!

Also I only uses cargo pocket pants when gardening.

I have never understood how a woman can successfully use the back hip pockets to store items.Personally I would lose my phone or whatever or injure myself (gardening shears Smiley Happy ) I heard Angel (QF) comment that she placed her cell phone in a back pocket.--classic b-utt dial?😒for me.

For me, it depends on the style of the top, the material, and the placement of the pockets. Pockets on the chest aren't a deal breaker, but I don't seek them out either. I'm not large busted. I have a few tops and casual jackets with one or two pockets on the chest. I prefer the pockets blend in with the color of the top so they're not too obvious. I never put anything in chest pockets.
