Evelyn & Bobbie Bras

[ Edited ]

I discovered these bras during the winter while wearing high necklines, enjoying their great comfort and support.  Bought 6 or 7 of them in different but similar styles.

Then the weather got warm and I transitioned to my V-necks,  round and split necks.   It immediately became apparent that there is a design flaw in the wide straps on these bras that allows a large portion of strap to be exposed along any neckline.  There is no way they can be adjusted so they don't show.   My shoulders are of average width.

For the price of these bras,  I expected to wear them 365 days a year.   The vendor needs to get back to her drawing board for a design modification.

I guess it's back to my old underwires for the summer.  I'm very disappointed in this product.

I love my bras and don't have a problem with the straps. I have one boatneck top with a wide opening and my straps can show. But I just slightly push the straps over towards my shoulder joint and that solved my problem.

@Kachina624, don't know which styles you have but if you go directly to their website, they explain the different styles.

Their Starlette Plunge has the thinnest straps. Then I think the Structure Scoop follows.

@Kachina624  I tried different styles of Evelyn & Bobbie bras and returned them all, until I tried their mesh trimmed bra.  That one is the best bra I have ever worn.  I have no problem with the straps, and V-neck is my all-time favorite top neckline.  In fact I wore it today with a V-neck top, with no issues about the straps.  I bought three of them.

The bra I'm referring to is:

@Kachina624

Not aware of the line you purchased but I bought some sports type bra from Jockey a couple of years ago and stocked up because they were comfortable and supportive.  They do have that thicker strap but it only shows slightly depending on the top.  Underwires are out of my life forever.

Some fashions are shown with a bit of strap showing it the top slides or has a boat neck. So many fashion looks have some type of layer look underneath.  Hope that makes sense.

@Kachina624 I realized the same issue early on.  E&B bras are great under certain items but anything a bit lower or wide cut show straps.  As a result I have purchased some inexpensive wide strap braps (not as wide as Evelyn & Bobbie) that work well for me that I found on Amazon.

They are as comfortable as my old Wacoal bras that had skinny straps and dug into my shoulders leaving marks.

They are called, "CALVENA Women's Minimizer Bra Full Coverage Plus Size Smooth Underwire Seamless Bra" and very reasonably priced at under $30.00.

@Etoile308. @Caaareful Shopper.  I'm wearing the mesh trimmed bra today, the latest TSV.  You cannot move the straps over, they come right back.   It shows under my wider (not wide) necklines.

agree - comfortable bra, but straps are too wide and aren't adjustable

I recently discovered Underoutfit bras and I love them!!!! I just purchased my 2nd one since December.

They are not cheap, but they are the most comfortable, yet supportive bras I have ever tried.......Great styles, and colors and super quick delivery and 180 day money back guarantee!!!!!

I wear these comfortable bras as well.  I don't seem to have that problem and I do wear V-neck tee-shirts and round neck tops.  Perhaps it depends on how deep or wide the Vs and round/boat necks are on each individual.  I also wear the same color bras as my skin tone, so even if a tiny bit does shows, it's not really noticeable.  Bear in mind, a thinner strap might not give the same great support and could cause those awful skin 'dents' in your shoulders.

Exactly. I’m a DD cup size and I will never buy thinner straps again. But I don’t wear the thick wide harnesses either. This bra is the perfect, and soft balance for me. My v-necks and scoop neck tops are even a bit deeper than what QVC brands will typically offer, and I still don’t have a problem.
