a choir director, how awesome! So you are a musically talented lady. I love this tidbit about you.

I also sang Barbershop for 15 years!  I totally relate to you!

Your menu sounds great!

And that reminds me, I need to grab the ingredients to make a Coconut Cake as well. Smiley Wink

We don't have any plans other than church right now.
I recently returned to the choir after being gone for a while due to serious health issues. The choir director asked me to be the soloist Easter Sunday morning so I will wear a dress, heels, and hosiery to sing. We will probably spend a quiet afternoon and evening at home with our dog.

For Easter, I am cooking ham, leg of lamb, roasted potatoes in lamb juice, candied sweet potatoes, salad and  numerous veggies and desserts...a huge spread.

I always have a lot of people and lately even more than usual because my younger granddaughter goes to college about a hour away.  She and her friends won't get any time off for Easter, so the college students that live too far to go home stay in their dorms and eat cafeteria food.

With my permission, some of the students will join us for Easter dinner, then drive back to college.  They did this last year too.

It's always casual and fun.  It's nice to see so many people, family and friends enjoy themselves.

When I was growing up, we always had "people" eat with us, especially for holidays.  Some were homeless or older folks and some my father signed out of the nursing home for the day.

We.. my whole family and I still keep up this tradition.

@smoochy Yes, I can totally relate to dressing up in frilly Easter outfits as a child...white patent leather shoes and ankle socks with lace trim. Did your hats have that awful skinny elastic chin strap? Apparently, they would have blown away, otherwise.

No plans as of yesterday--actually DD is down with a case of RSV so that is a no-go. Was invited for a family dinner. But I will cook a nice dinner for us both. No fancy clothing and I can't find my spring/easter decor yet--just moved recently--no colored eggs and prob not even any chocolate. Just another day really! But @smoochy  memories are almost the same as mine when I was a kid and also when my kids were young. Good times!!!

Another one from the Patent leather white shoes and Easter hat generation. Because of my mother we had to wear sister matching dresses and  got new shoes and a hat  for Easter Sunday and the purse was white patent but I used the same one for years. It held a Mass card and a tiny mirror and an Avon lipstick sample.

In the '80s we still dressed up for church. Now, people wear jeans. Sad...its just another day.  Even all the Mall stores are open. The last time I remember stores closed on Easter was 1997.

Please go to your family dinner.  It is so good to be with other people rather than yourselves.  My family took off for Spring break to Florida so hubby and I have two choices:  go to Cracker Barrel for dinner or to the movies.  Bless your family when you come.
