I have to admit, I just hate having to dry flat anything. This morning I WAS going to order SG Ponte pant unit I heard it was line dry. I have a very small laundry area and there is not enough room to dry flat. I didn’t even know there was a ponte that couldn’t be put in the dryer. Love ponte pants but mine all go happily in the dryer. I don’t mind the occasional top, then I can set it on top of the washer, but no room for pants . Anyone else dislike lay flat?

I won't purchase anything that needs to dry flat.

i have been doing my laundry for decades.

i do not dry anything flat

some go in dryer long enough to get warm and still damp, then hung to dry

rest in dryer long enough to get dry, then shook out, seams smoothed then hung or folded

I would think that ponte is no problem in the dryer on a no- or low-heat.

Some things you have to dry flat like silk or cashmere, which I place flat on a towel on top of the dryer.

I have a couple of those drying racks. They are great and have mesh type fabric so the clothing gets ventilation. The problem is finding a place to put it while the clothes dry.

@Mustang Shar   was it line dry or dry flat?  Line dry you can just hang on a hanger to dry.

Most items that don't go in the dryer for a full dry I just air dry in the dryer for a few minutes then take out to hang dry.

I just recently purchased a few cashmere items and will wash in cold water, gentle cycle and then dry flat.  I have ample counter space to get one of those stackable flat drying racks for sweaters.

As for ponte pants, I can't imagine why it couldn't be dried in a dryer unless there is some embellishment on it that could get ruined?

Dry flat instructions are a deal breaker for me. I don't have the space to dry a sweater flat much less a pair of pants. I dry all of my clothes in the lowest setting for a few minutes, then hang to dry. I have a spare bedroom where I can hang clothes but nowhere in there to dry anything flat. I don't do dry cleaning either. The idea of putting my clothes in with everyone else's is a complete turn off. Way back it didn't bother me much but now I just can't.

I have six of those stackable flat drying racks. This time of year I live in sweaters so the racks are just a permanent fixture in one of the spare bedrooms. If something is lightweight I might hang instead of lay. Of course I'd rather be able to throw everything in the dryer,  but if I like something that won't stop my buying it.

I dry no wearing clothes, that includes jeans and even sweat active wear clothing.  I line dry all on hangers then iron the majority.  Today I am wearing a pullover shirt to the office I bought at Talbot's back in the late '80's.  Cold water wash, line dry then iron.  My routine since the '70's.
