Disappointed! Confused by Louis Sizing

I'm soooo disappointed. I ordered a complete outfit from the Linea collection recently and was very excited to get it. Never tried the line before.

The skirt fits well enough, but the jackets (two of them) are so large they hang off my shoulders about three inches, and the waist is also huge. They are a horrible fit, and yet I ordered the same size I get in Mackie and D&C. I also ordered an open front cardigan in the same size, and it is also HUGE on me.

Can some of you who order from this line frequently tell me - does it really run that large. Do you order the same sir as other Q lines? I am still the same size as always, but there's a huge difference in the sizing here. I can't reorder because there aren't any pieces in the smaller size.

It's always a mistake to just assume you wear a certain size because that's what you "always wear". It just doesn't work that way. You can usually, but not always, do that within a certain line. It's generally safe to assume that you take a size 12 in D&Co because that's what always fits. But you can't make that assumption across fashion lines. You absolutely must use the size charts and listen carefully to the presentations; until you are familiar with the fit. I tend to stick with just 3 or 4 designers; my regulars, because I know the fit. When I do branch out, I use the size chart. Like with Isaac's things. I'm relatively new to his line, when ordered pants for the first time, I sized up because his clothing is "slimmer" and "leaner" than SG and D&Co. And it was a good move becaue the pants wouldn't have fit if I bought my "regular" size.

Disregard the general QVC sizing chart and look closely at the click here individual garment measurements for the items you are interested in purchasing.

I agree with JJM. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before you find your perfect Linea size, but once you do, you will be able to order more accurately. I have worn the same size in Linea for the past 7 years, with few exceptions.

I hope you won't give up before trying again. I think you will be very happy once you've found your "sweet spot."

The "Click Here" measurements are usually pretty accurate, & the women on this forum who actually buy from the line as opposed to those who just drop in to drop guano bombs are the most genuinely helpful bunch you will find on any forum around. Take your own measurements, including shoulders, arms, etc. before you order & check against those 'click heres" & I think you'll be happier with your choices, just as most of us regulars are.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I might try again, but will definitely have to go down at least a size to come close. Is this what everyone else experiences with Linea?

It would really help to know what styles you are talking about. If we own any of them we could tell you how they fit us. I'm an xs and usually buy an xs o xxs depending on the style and click here measurements. It would also help to know what size you are and what size you bought.

I always check the click size chart because sometimes the top is more fitted than the last one I bought. I also read the reviews and they are really helpful. If you can watch the presentation it is helpful as well. And, of course, the gals here are sooo helpful with their comments.

Also Perkup - when checking the click here measurements, remember that the measurements are the measurements of the garment and NOT the measurements of your body. Remember to allow yourself 2 to 3 inches of "ease" when chosing a size - depending on the stretchability of the fabric, or lack thereof as well as the style.

Re: Disappointed! Confused by Louis Sizing

Years ago the QVC. Hosts used to tout that "once you knew what QVC size you wore you could always order that size and know it would fit". I haven't heard them say that for a long time and it doe seem that every vendor has their own different sizing charts. When I am watching A clothing show (which I seldom do any more) and I want to order something it appears as if I have to go and log into my computer, pull up the description and check those stupid click here measurements before I can even order. Way too much trouble which is why QVC now gets so little of my clothing money any more.
