Denim Jackets...plain, old and treasured.

I am always on the lookout for the old, vintage, (whatever they are called) denim jackets.

I have three of them now and wear them all.

I love the faded color and the softness  and comfort of them.

They always seem like such a classic even tho styles vary.

They  also have been very reasonable in thrift shops. Mostly I paid about $ 10.00.

Not sure what they are selling them for now tho.

Anyone else buy and enjoy them?

I don't look for them or buy them now but they were my go to jacket in the 80's.  I still have one of them hanging in my closet today.

Yes!! They are so my style! I have many in colors, fabrics, and different weights-

One of my favorites is one designed by Twiggy when she was a vendor on HSN, ( ohhh, about 10-15 yrs ago).  It has white lace at the bottom and on the cuffs. People always remark on it! But I have enough and no room to hang any more. ENJOY!

Love the look but they don't suit me.  I had 2 or 3 some years ago but I found I rarely wore them.

They are kind of stiff and constricting (to me).  The buttons are hard to close and they are short in length and the sleeves are always too long (for me).  I didn't like the look of head to toe denim as I usually wear jeans.  I donated them all a while back and don't miss them.

I am happier in a soft zip up hoodie.

I have a couple D&C jean jackets I've had since the 90's.  One dark blue, the other black.  After all these years and machine washings, they're very soft and comfortable. I feel they're just getting broken in.  Love them both and still wear a lot because the styles of both are timeless.

@Flatbush

I have a fairly good collection denim jackets.  They were all new when I bought them.  Different styles ....

For the ones that are not embellished, I've crocheted a bunch of "interesting vests" to wear over them.  It's a simple way to jazz up the look of denim.

(Is "Flatbush" an indication that you live in Brooklyn?)

I only own one true denim jacket made of denim fabric, but I own a few twill and knit jackets in various colors that have denim jacket design details.

I think denim jackets are classic items, but many fashion influencers are saying they're not "on trend" right now. I don't let that stop me from wearing what I like.

Ten bucks is a great price for a jacket you love! Enjoy wearing your denim jackets!

Lace! That would be an eye catcher. Never saw one like that (yet).

@PinkyPetunia

The vintage ones have been washed so many times, that they feel nice and soft now.

Yeah, there is a constricting feeling  in one of mine too, but it is a larger size than my usual size  so it doesn't bother me.

Love the soft, fleece ones too tho.
