Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

Let's see... clothing fit is a huge issue EVEN FINDING the hard to find Garment sizing chart! It's not been very accurate.

I returned the Dyson cordless cleaner, engineered so that you have to keep the trigger down with your thumb all the time or it shuts off. Awful design.

Philosophy set that had no scent halfway through the body butter!! Scent of the "perfume" was gone by the time I hit the door to leave. Neglected to return that $80 set, but I cancelled my Auto ship and refuse to by Philosophy products again.

Poor quality electronics, cheap household items, thin and flimsy jewlery, and a Ham that I spent 3 times what I should have that had a bigger bone and more fat than it's supermarket counterpart. The only reason I bought it was because I purchased one a few years ago and it was magnificent.... last year not even good!

I've also shopped for over 20 years, understand the need to keep prices down but I don't understand the NEGLECT in the Quality Control Department. Have received brand new items that were clearly used, some with personal dirt at the bottom of the item, hair, etc. Not cleaning up the item, repackaging it to make it look unused is inexcusable!

It's a shame what is happening to QVC. I'm cancelling so much lately because I'm sick and tired of returning stuff....

OH.... my last order was on August 31. A $250 watch from J.Ripka. I got an email TODAY that it was just shipped. What? Six days to ship? Are you kidding me? And QVC is wondering why their customers are fed up?

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

Sure I've returned things to QVC. Things that didn't fit, didn't like the color, etc. But, I have also returned purchases to Nordstrom, Amazon, HSN, etc., and just returned a purchased to Sturbridge Yankee Workshop because the item came damaged.

It goes with the territory when buying online.

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

It's rare that I need to return an item from Q because the sizing is off -- I always read the garment measurements. So the only time clothing doesn't fit is when there is some flaw in manufacturing, which has happened just a couple times.

Most Q items I've returned due to them being cheap. An LCNY tee where the dye made it feel "crusty," an IM sweater that actually had a hole in the back, a D&C cotton blend tee that feels like rubber -- these items I've returned.

On occasion a return is because the color is not as described. I bought something from 6pm that was described as pine green and it was actually brown.

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

Almost always about quality for me when it comes to returns. For example, I bought a necklace last year that I loved and wanted a second to layer. This is a 350.00 piece of jewelry. The first one had some weight and hung beautifully; the second one that arrived just last week weighs half as much (I put it on a scale) and won't hang straight. It is a 350.00 piece of junk. Back it goes.

With clothing it's sometimes about the fit which tends to be boxy even at the smallest sizes but usually about the quality of the fabric. Poly that has an unnatural sheen or blends that pill with the slightest wear.

99% of my returns are always due to quality. I stopped buying much because of the quality issues....and I really don't want one of ""the"" letters.

99.9% of the time my returns are all about fit. Most of those times I will opt for an exchange in the next size. The one time is wasn't fit was the long black leather coat that smelled like kerosene.

Oh YES, the Kerosene and/or insecticide smell from China on leathers and PVC's!!

One of my first shocks was a coat from Carson Kressley that was brown leather (and not cheap). When I opened the box it reeked of a chemical smell. Looking at the coat I realized it was BONDED leather~! That was an expensive coat and nothing, anywhere warned me of bonded leather!

Then the Kathy Van Zeeland Kerosene/insecticide smell when opening the boxes with her bags inside (from China). One made me feel so dizzy I had to put the box outside. It never did air out properly.

I return very little, but if all of a sudden I found myself returning much, I'd definitely find myself buying less. I hate returning whether it's by mail or by walking into brick and mortar.

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

I return about 1/4 of the clothes I get because of the fit. I can order size large in a Susan Graver top (for example), and most of the time it fits. Sometimes it's too big and I have to size down to a medium. This week I received a coat in size large and it's too small. I'll be returning that shortly. Rarely have I returned non-clothing items.

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN ITEMS? IF SO, WHY?

I rarely order clothes as there is no rhyme or reason to the sizing.
