my favorite graduation gifts for graduates going to college were gift cards to the college bookstore where they were going to attend.....they were always well received!

I give monetary gift or gift certificate, amount dependent on who they are and what relationship to our family, friends.

All my high school graduates get a gift card to Starbucks with a note about pulling all-nighters in college and in desperate need of sugar/caffeine.  If they hold or do not hold from May until Sept. that of course is up to them.  All my college graduates get a gift card from Dillard's with a note in it to help put together the new wardrobe for a career after wearing college apparel for so long.  Cute idea from RL.  Time does not move on sometimes Ralph Lauren was a lot of gifts I received back in 1980 for my own graduation.
