I had that sock aid in the 1990's to help me pull on prescription compression socks.  My problem was painful inflamation for several inches above my ankles.  The prescription stockings were terribly painful to pull past the inflamation, but the device just added to my misery.

Re: Compression stockings

[ Edited ]

I used to wear compression hose.  I bought them online from Discount Surgical.  I got the toeless kind and used a plastic bag over my foot to help get them on, then was able to remove the plastic bag through the toe opening.  I learned that trick from a hospital nurse,

I have to wear a thigh high compression stocking on one leg the rest of my life.  I was told to keep it where you can reach without getting out of bed in the morning, when you stand you start swelling and hard to get on.  Hope that works for you.

Having had a DVT and living with chronic vein insufficiency in one leg, I wear the medical grade compression thigh hi. I only wear on one leg and it is open toe. I have used as previously mentioned the plastic bag method to help put them on in the past. I just put them on now. I wear the ones that are for the severe strength. But I do understand that not each person can do so. As I stated in a previous thread about this same subject that there is a folding method I would do to help my father who wore medical grade sock due to a stroke. This enabled him to put them on himself if there wasn't one of his 7 kids or his wife around to help. My mother wore medical grade sock too as she had circulation issues and it was a bit more difficult on her but we were able to get them on her as well.

There is a previous thread about this same subject.

With my luck, I'd trip over that contraption...and break a few more bones...

@geegerbee I wear compression socks when I walk for exercise. The brand I buy is called Dr. Motion, you can buy them at Kohl's and Marshalls and TJ Maxx sell them too.

I also like to wear them for work, even though both of my jobs are sit down jobs.

The thin Dr. Motion socks are more difficult to put on, but if you buy the ones that are thicker or the prints those are easier to put on.

If you stretch them out by hand first before putting them on that can help some.

I love the Dr. Motion ankle socks for walking on the tredmill.  They have a light compression, plus they are thicker at the balls of the feet and heel areas.  They feel good on the foot.  I get mine at TJ Maxx, and I think they are either $3 or $4 a pair.

Wow!  Thank you for the Dr. Motion alert !

I believe I tried C*pper F*t, and they were so hard to put on and also especially remove, I cut off the sock section.

Easier to remove that way, without straining my tummy muscles.

I buy wellow compression stockings, and although expensive, I love them. I wear them daily. I also tried bombas, but I like wellow better. wellow are long enough for my legs, and don't feel uncomfortable.

I tried so many cheaper brands on amazon and costco, but they did not work for me, mostly being uncomfortable.
