@lolakimono Wow...all great info~Thank you for sharing! I will definitely search all these options. I have time, not like I NEED one right away...so I will have fun searching all these sources.

I've definitely got my eye out for that LLB peacoat, which I believe is their classic they carry each year, but are out of now. I've wanted to replace mine for years. As I said...Jones NY, still looks great on the outside, but the lining is shot. I do love the look of the LLB one, and it's officially on my wish list. Smiley Happy

Pendleton...good idea...

All great ideas!

Thank you!

@amyb

If you love the coat, a seamstress can replace the lining.  It might be your "do now" solution.

I know...I've been "contemplating" that off and on, but thought it's probably more worth it to use that money toward a new one. I really should price it out, then I'd know! The lady I was thinking of in our area, is excellent (bf has had Italian suits custom made by her...beautiful), is pricey...but good. I think one of our cleaners might also do work like this. Not a lot of great tailors around anymore, (two I had in the past have either passed or gotten very old and retired), like cobblers...a dying skill and breed.

I wonder what Millennials & Gen Z would say our Everyday Classics are these days.

I agree with @ECBG  that they'd likely include jeans, crew neck tees, & zip jackets like hoodies, among some other items.

I tend to think they're more casual than they used to be, but I'm not clear on what's encompassed. Jeans, tees, & zip jackets would've never entered my mom's or grandma's mind as everyday classics.

Society has changed.  In your grandmother's day,  "ladies" didn't wear denim unless they worked on a ranch.  Here they wore lined wool slacks and slipover or buttoned cardigan sweaters.

Denim was less comfortable, no streach to make them softer.

  Hoodies weren't around until later, but workmen wore denim jackets and uniforms, shirts and slacks, or suits to work.

That generation will age as we have and be looking for comfortable clothes.

Very well stated @ECBG ....aside from the fact that it's true!!!
