I also LOVE capes and ponchos but for ME....I find that to get the most flattering FIT it is best to go DOWN a size or two.  For example, as a 1X if I order a 1X poncho it looks HUGE and not as flattering.  I often order a L or Medium so the poncho skims the body and looks flattering and not like a BLANKET just thrown on.

You have to be a small woman to carry this look off because it makes your shoulders broad.  The cape coat with the bow in a muted beige is good looking.  Personally, I am not into cape coats.
