QVC sends cancellation letters telling you not to do that or they will close your account.
It's been a long time since I got that letter because I haven't ordered anything in over three years. The letter made me realize how much time and money I was wasting by ordering and buying without even counting the cancelled orders. It's based on a percentage of your cancelled orders.
Good for you! We all kind to have your kind of personal responsibility. I'm sure that letter was beyond irritating, but you used it for a personal good.
What you didn't tell is whether your changed QVC buying habits have carried over to other retailers, too. I hope so - I say that because most of us can save more money nowadays by not falling for pitches from all the sources that bombard us than by just finding items cheaper elsewhere.
Now that the money I saved for retirement is no longer growing much, not spending is the best way I have to try to guarantee myself economic independence going forward. Ifg QVC helped you do that, it worked for both them and you!
I've never bought as much stuff from any retailer as I bought from qvc. I thought I was being a good qvc shopper by cancelling orders instead of having returns but apparently not. But if you think about it when you cancel an order you've taken it from someone else who would not have gone on a waitlist to get it. And the letter was irritating. I started watching qvc from day one. When they had their 25th anniversary they sent me a card for 4 people to take the qvc tour for free and I still have it but I don't think I'll ever get there to use it. I don't think there is really anything you can't get either for the same price or cheaper someplace else.

I've never had any problems canceling an order with QVC or HSN.

With HSN you have until midnight that day to cancel [or change] an order. And with QVC for as long as it's 'in process'. I've seen my order 'in process' for several days- but other times it's a matter of hours!

The only thing you said that ALMOST made sense was about thinking twice about ordering. It would make total sense to say that about ordering from ANY shopping channel.
