I don't like the bow or the heart or both together. I think the bow looks awful. I'd take those off and leave the lovely top and bottom as they are. Or make the top solid white or the same white with sparkles.

It would be perfect without the heart and bow!

I don't mind the heart, but I hate the bow !

I don't like it.  Sometimes I do not understand fashion I guess like everything it is subjective.

Lose the bow and the heart and add a large diamond (or rhinestone) brooch

Lose the whole thing and start over.

I love this idea. A large diamond (she's Captain Marvel after all, no rhinestones for her) brooch would look gorgeous on the black velvet and pick up the sparkles in the skirt.

It looks like a Disney princess dress. Like she's a grown up trying to play pretend lol. I agree with the posters who said the dress would be perfect without the heart and bow JMO.

@Greeneyedlady21 I would agree with you, lose the bow and the heart.  Black and white is always right, classic and dressy!

That skirt is beautiful.  I could see the top made as a fitted strapless draped from the top of the bust to the waist seam.  I'd add a long train from one shoulder to about two feet  beyond the hem.
