If you have shirts you can tie over them, you might make them work too. I know what you mean about being "constricted" especially in hot weather. Also, I have a feeling I'd be constantly fidgeting with a belt, either pulling it up or down or rearranging the material so that it wouldn't look bunched up, etc. The more I think about it, the more I think the shirt over it is the best option. Thanks to @SilleeMee for the suggestion. 😊

Yeah that is cute with the denim shirt over it.  I'm not really a belt person :-)

Thanks @lolakimono

So you're advocating a narrow belt rather than a wide one?

I love everyone's suggestions but I'm beginning to think that @SilleeMee might have a point, given the amount of fabric I'd have to cinch in. I do love that look and have worn a denim shirt tied just like that over a striped tank Maxi dress.

Decisions, decisions... 😄

@Texasmouse,The type of belt depends on your personal style and what is comfortable.  A belt for a dress can come in any width.

I prefer wide myself because I'm long waisted.

I wouldn't belt the dress because it would look bulky with all the material. Why not wear some jewelry that would take away from the fullness of the dress. It would make the dress appear less full if the necklace is long. Do you wear heels? This would help. I think the dress is cute but it is meant to be full. Do you feel the dress makes you look bigger than you are? Is that what you are trying to camouflage.

Most stores will take the dress back with your receipt. I am sure you are not the first person to return an item that was worn.

A loose fitting skinny belt, slightly below the waist.  I think a hot pink would be delightful or a gold.
