the quality of clothing was much better. Some of you will not believe this, but I still own (and wear) a pair of socks from 1993. Yes, it's true. They were a gift from an old boyfriend (a henley and matching socks) from Eddie Bauer. The shirt has been donated long ago, but the socks are still kicking, alive and well, and with NO HOLES! They are coral colored, ribbed dress socks. Maybe with the new "tangerine tango" they will get overused and will finally meet their demise.
I have one other item that I bought in 1995- a red plaid flannel bathrobe. I don't use it everyday, as it lives at my mother's house and gets worn when I come to visit.
Everything else is from the 2000s.
What is your oldest piece of clothing that you can (and still do) wear? I'm not talking about special occasion dresses or items, but things that you've been wearing for awhile. I hear callers report to SG that they have items from over 20 years ago that look "brand new". (IMO, that is because polyester is like kryptonite, not that it's because they were made in the U.S.A.)
