The nuts they sell are superior fresh and last a year with the seal. The nuts that are packaged at other retailers are also fresh. They are put in airtight packaging. They are just as fresh as the day they were packaged.
Agree with it or not, BD has been a luxury brand for years and years before coming to QVC. Their original business was just baby blankets and then branched out due to popularity. The original items from their own website were definitely higher quality than what is sold here. I bought a baby blanket for my nephew when he was born and it is still spectacular even though he's much older now. His mom has it on her bed.
It’s a low-end luxury item, or affordable luxury. True luxury brands most people can’t afford. Not even QVC shoppers. QVC can't spin those.

They do spin everything. Including convincing the QVC shopper they are getting a luxury item.
