B Mak TSV/Color Transfer

I recently received the large Taupe B Mak TSV as a gift. It is a beautiful bag but after reading all the threads about color transfer and the bag actually having a tag warning about this problem, I am a little concerned as to how I should care for this bag - or for that matter, how to carry the bag without damaging it...(not used to this issue, my Dooneys wear like iron)...any suggestions? do you B Mak owners treat your bags (with some kind of product like a leather protector, etc.)
