Are You Finding Any Markdown Fashions?

I found a top at Dillards they FINALLY marked down from this summer.  I had it in black and loved it!  Dillards has always been the WORST to hold items back.  No wonder their "foot traffic" is always so light.

I also got an Anne Klein knit moto jacket.

At Soft Surroundings, I found they had finally market down a leather jacket I wanted a while back and had forgotten.  I hope the M fits; their large is a 14-16 and would be big on my shoulders.

@ECBG  Agree about Dillards.   When I lived in NV, I really liked that store but sales were few and far between.  I have an eye on a pair of Jambu shoes at Macy's, marked down from $80 to $27.  Have never tried that brand and seems like a good opportunity!

Yes. J Jill has an extra 40-60% off markdowns. Retail Me Not has a extra $50.00 coupon off a $150.00 purchase. I got some basic tee shirts turtlenecks and a couple of dresses heavily discounted. Their t shirts are excellent quality.

@kaydee50

I was the most prefered stylist at our Dillards the first year after I retired from teaching.

I loved the clothes, "didn't get it" about changing my footwear, lol!, and was often wishing we had more customers.

Dillards never "got" that they are in a coupon society which has kept their sales down.  Also, their card gives you only 10% off but you have to hit $1,000 in yearly sales to earn it!

Ten years ago, everyone was giving 15% off with thresholds not even half that much!

Dillards was where I developed the sciatic issue I have because the customers all came to me, but I also had to put all of those clothes back.

On the other hand, Jambu is a well loved clog type shoe.  In summer they can be worn without socks.  Many people get a good fit, I would say their leathers are a medium grade.  they don't work with my slightly low arch, but they are well loved.

You would probably love them.

I've been getting emails from some of my favorite places to shop ... but I haven't seen anything I wanted to buy.

But - what I did get ....  some ideas / inspirations tor sweaters.   I've ordered more yarn!

Re: Are You Finding Any Markdown Fashions?

Another vote for j.jill. I went to the store first thing yesterday morning and picked up the faux suede pants I was eyeing but not buying at $99.00 along with a coordinating chenille sweater and another sweater, all at 40% off previous sale prices, so 70% or more off original tags.  Also bought 2 pairs of earrings marked down 50% off sale prices. I will keep those for birthday gifts during the coming year. Prices were too good to pass up.

Also bought a beautiful pair of cognac faux suede skinny pants from WHBM: half price.

Today I picked up a tobacco double breasted Tahari jacket and a Joan Vass faux suede tunic, both on clearance at Marshall's. Even better: I paid for them in full with rewards certificates from my TJX CC. The clearance markdowns at Marshall's were not impressive- sort of like Q's clearance prices.

Also ordered on line a pair of shoes and a pair of boots that I had seen on QVC but found much better prices and free shipping elsewhere.

Also started my Christmas, 2022 gift shopping with some beauty items at Marshall's.

I envy your love of hand work!  I've gotten some amazing items from the Guild!  I wish you were close so we could see all of the beautiful handwork at the show together!

Not on this channel--QVC doesn't know what a sale is---but I found my new winter coat at Lands End ---Original price was $320 and hit a flash sale plus 1/2 off sale and bought it for $111 plus free shipping. Not bad!!

@ECBG   I've been receiving many emails with discounts on clothing...some to my favorite stores. I've been shopping online and received a nice deal on some cashmere sweaters.

Re: Are You Finding Any Markdown Fashions?

My email box has been deluged with offers and announcements of special sales.  I have not shopped for clothing because right now I am so interested in clothes.  I believe that the blues of limited travel and entertainment outings because of the pandemic and being retired has caught up with me.

I have spent much more on wellness and beauty. Most of my recent purchases during this time of holiday sets and special pricing have been cosmetic and hair.  I have been getting my hair done weekly.  It's nice for my hairdresser to have a loyal customer come in more often because like a lot of people in that profession, business is not booming.
