@LTT1   Very spacious kitchen, just too high for me to reach. It was the same in every apartment or condo we checked. When we built our house, I had the carpenter lower the cabinets a notch to accommodate my lack of height, so I'm a bit spoiled. 

New cabinets not filled yet. Serving pieces rarely used will go above the dishes.

DH is going to move the shleves down a bit so I can reach the extra dishes. Not sure what the heck will go in the highest glass display areas.

My kitchen is the same and the man who built the house and who lived in it, a contractor, was more than 6-ft tall and his wife was, like me, a dwarf at 5-4.  I guess he must have been the chief cook and bottle washer because neither of us could have reached the tall cabinets.  My bathroom vanity is tall.

New home Ms Shanus? Love your kitchen and those cabinets way up high? Trust me you'll eventually be storing in them. I have a very old kitchen portion and pantry 'room' that has my sink and a total of 37 cupboards/cabinets! there is stuff in them all! Yes, they go to the ceiling like your's.

@PINKdogWOOD   Yes, we moved to an apartment to downsize. The usual story that kids have flown the nest many years ago and just a lot of wasted space we were not using. It just made sense for us to move. I do have a stool w/ handles on the sides for stability and now feel safe climbing to the second shelf. lol
