@Shanus   Your new home sounds really nice.  I wish in my smallish town had more choices...we would be moving in to something like you and your DH have.

Enjoy!

@LTT1   Well that return was an ordeal!

I take all returns via UPS to my local CVS as well.  They don't print labels, but I have been fortunate that anything I had to return to QVC has had a return label..not so lucky with Amazon, but they (Amazon) will send a label once you let them know that the closest UPS drop off is an hour away.  I think they think everyone has a UPS store in their town.

@Mom2Dogs

Amazon charges for returns to my UPS store (usually)

Returns to Kohls and Whole Foods is free! And my label is a code...and I dont need to wrap the item up in any way.

@LTT1   Thanks, but I do wish there were more folks close to our age. Living in a college town, there are many graduate students and medical residents since huge hospital here, too. You have to be at leasy 21 to rent, so no undergraduates or couples with young kids.

We looked at "senior living communities" here and hope not to offend anyone but many residents were not as active as we are and also with walkers, scooters, etc. and it kind of turned me off. I like seeing some young, active people every day.

Re: AM Style Live Chat, Saturday, August 23, 2025

@Mom2Dogs   In our small college town there were not many choices either. many apartment complexes were too many undergrads with parties, noise and too many (against the rules/lease) kids stuffed into a 2 bedroom apartment.

I think I described just now here ruling out senior living. Our apartment is a mixture of ages, cultures, etc. It's new and a bit too contemporary for my taste, but some of the antique furniture and items on the shelves I brought from the house help to calm it down a bit and make it feel more homey.

I believe often finding the right spot to settle is tricky!

It sounds nice to be surrounded by college age and up!
My place has a mix also.

When asking what age group typically lived in this complex, they said they weren't allowed legally to tell that!

@LTT1   All they could tell me was "21 and over", so we drove around the complex for several weeks at different times of the day to see people coming and going. I felt like I was snooping, but a good way to see age group.
