If you were invited to a birthday party, next week, with the invitation asking everyone to wear white, but not required, would you wear white, or no? The venue is at a very pretty place, (my brother got married there last year), and this party includes many local politicians (who cares, right?!) ... lol... which many, many of us, are part of.  Would you wear white, or whatever you'd like?! This person, himself, giving the party, does not care at all! I will be wearing white. Hubby will NOT! lol!

I would wear white.  I can understand the husband not wearing white pants, but I don't think it's asking too much for him to wear a white shirt.  It's a pretty basic staple in most closets.

No....it's still very much winter here with snow and ice and my winter wardrobe doesn't include white. I also don't like to be told what color to wear to an event .....wedding, birthday, etc.

Thanks @kaiwahini  This person giving the party would not care at all! I am very curious to see what he will wear himself!

I really don't wear a lot of white.

I'd compromise and wear a white blouse/sweater and dark pants, skirt.

I would wear white. They probably want a photo with all white for some reason.  I would do it.

@alohakz @shoptilyadropagain @Carmie  I live just north of Boston. I honestly do not follow the stoopid white after Labor Day "rule" ... just follow what you like, whenever, wherever. Wear what you want. 🩷 This party will be a good time, no matter what anyone wears.

Sure I'd wear white. I don't think it's a difficult request.

I agree many men have a white dress shirt. If not I think it's a basic garment to have on hand for special occasions or if nothing else to have for their own funeral.

@Etoile308  For their own funeral... sad to read this. I know it will happen eventually... but... ugh! A very sad story attached to what you said. All ok.
