A Stupid Question

Hello everyone. I have a question that I know is stupid, but I have to ask somebody. I need to get a couple of wool coats sized down. Is it a good idea to even try and have them tailored? I really am afraid they will just do it wrong and ruin my coats. I guess I haven't always had the best of experiences with tailors.
