You are right! I love hearing about Lola’s fun-filled weeks!
Ouch! I did not know acorns could be so destructive!
Packing up for your trip sounds like fun! My sense of geography isn’t real keen...sure am happy for you that Pensacola was spared by all of Michael’s fury.
Our temp’s are in the 60’s for most of today. Yesterday same except for occasional overcast.

I know @LTT1 and all our AMStyle sisters will be waiting to hear the next chapter of your chairmanship saga ...
Let me think of the Reader's Digest edition @SoX and @LTT1
Monday- one member was out because we had to send someone from the department for tech training.
No sub. We covered all of her classes and lost planning.
Tuesday- the one teacher who had been out on medical leave returned on Monday, and then texted me at 6 a.m. from the E.R. that she would not be coming in.
No sub. We covered all of her classes and lost planning.
Wednesday- the P.S.A.T. was offered for free for all juniors. I was a "helper" for the first two periods, so I had to write TWO HOURS of sub plans for the class I was missing, and then spend my planning helping during the test. This was also the day that we had no AC and it was 80 degrees. It finally kicked on at about 11:00. Everyone else had almost four hours of teaching as they extended first and second period. I reviewed the SLO of one of my people, and suggested that the scores she gave her students were not valid since the rubric is based on WHOLE numbers and she gave them scores with .5. This is the rubric that we use for all exams, so I was baffled that she had given students scores this way for several years and no one has said anything to her.
Thursday- the teacher specialist from the B.O.E. came to do walkthroughs, where she popped into all of our highly engaging lessons that we had no time to prepare for. The visit was pre-planned, but since the kids were still dragging after a day of testing and heat stroke, it was not our finest moment. One member left early to attend her kid's conference, and the scheduled sub showed up an hour late so she had to stay and teach until he got there.
Friday-I stayed until 5 working on my SLO for my conference on Monday with my administrator. We found out what the days are for spirit week, so on my way home I popped into Goodwill and tried on a bunch of stuff until I found something acceptable for "decades" day on Monday.
Today I am running around to find things for "twin day." I found the perfect item for "heroes" day and ordered it to pick up, but now they canceled my order so I'm back at square one. Even if I paid an outrageous amount for shipping, it wouldn't be here guaranteed on time.
On Tuesday our Coordinator from the B.O.E. is coming, so we are all a flutter for that visit. It will be his first time back since I took over. Hopefully he'll like what he sees.

Good Morning @Snicks1 is the lump/mass on baby girl in or near the same location as the last one? How big is it?

@lolakimono ...
I'm giving you triple s for your line of duty this week. I don't know how you're going to make it to midterm, let alone the whole school year.
Thank goodness there are football games and Spirit Week to keep your sanity intact ... well, somewhat, anyway.

@gmkb wrote:Good morning. All is well. It has cooled down here in the evenings, which allows us to sit on the porch in the evening, so nice.
We have a large live oak tree in our front yard, which drops huge amounts of acorns this time of year on the driveway. The acorns are very large. They sting when one hits you.
Yesterday one hit the car windshield and left a crack in the glass.
No special weekend plans.
we were on the golf course this week and everyone was talking about how many acorns there are this year, we can hear them falling while teeing off, maybe it's all the rain

@Bird mama, the first one was on her chest wall between her front legs. This one is larger, about the size of a medium egg (?) and is in her mammary glands on her right side, causing that side to be distended. Vet said it has to be removed "ASAP", and already said that if all goes well we can take her home that night, but if there are problems, she will take her home with her for that first night, as she wants to care for her, herself, in that case.

A little chilly in New Jersey this morning, but, feels great!

@Snicks1 what a wonderful doctor I used to take Max to a vet that had a person at the practice during the night. Max didn't have to spend the night often however when he did, I didn't sleep and I would randomly call at bizarre hours to ask how he was doing, lol.
