Here are some fun ways to style pretty brooches that may be sitting quietly in some jewelry boxes.

(I think I'd slip a silk scarf between the pin part and the pretty brooch part, but I wouldn't make a pin hole into the silk. But, I would pin a knit scarf.)

I have some from Joan Rivers and Nolan Miller that I like to play with. They are nice for some sweaters and blazers.

What great ideas!

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Fun and fashionable ideas!  I actually have some of my brooches displayed in a shadow box, many from Joan Rivers collection.  Thanks for the ideas!!

Love that look!

I almost always have some sort of pins on my jean jackets.  Back in August, I bought a box of studs/buttons from Amazon (below),

Amazon, Chico's and Fire Mountain Gems are great sources for pins andd things that are a bit (different).

I wear wool berets in the winter - decorated most of them with either studs or freeform knit/crochet "scrumbles."

That denim jacket pic is just plain cute!  It looks very much like an Anthropologie picture!

I wouldn't put a hole in a silk scarf either.

I use my brooches on the jackets and sweaters that don't have closures.

Thank you for these ideas.  I recently gathered my pins together and placed them in a glass lidded box.  Hopefully this will give me incentive to wear them.

I'm not usually big on acquiring or wearing jewelry pieces anymore, but my mom had a few nice brooches. I've been wearing one either on a hat or to secure scarves, two others on spring/fall jackets.

One in particular draws a lot of positive comments from younger people.

I've been using brooches for my open cardigans and my ruanas for years.  My 95 year old mother has quite the collection.  About 7 or 8 years ago she gave most of them to me.  Some look like they are straight out the Harlem Renaissance era, very ornate, stunning, and have impeccable quality.

Also, I pinned one on a fabric clutch evening purse.
