I like a top that is 100% rayon... I know it is hand wash cold... line dry. But how does this type of fabric come out after washing.  I do not have to wash my garments very often... but I just do not know much about Rayon.

MY QUESTIONS:

Does it wrinkle terribly after washing and need ironing?  Does it have any stretch?  Maybe I should size up if it shrinks some?

@SeaMaiden, I have several 100 percent rayon tops. I love them. I wash on gentle and hang dry. No shrinkage, no wrinkles.

It depends on if you're talking about woven rayon or knit rayon.  I've had 100% woven rayon pants that did shrink in length after washing.  I've never had that issue with knit rayon but I'm not honestly sure any of my rayon tops are 100% rayon.  I think they are a rayon/spandex blend.

Hand wash in cold water, a little bit of  gentle detergent and don't wring, twist or scrunch it up.  Let the item soak in the water, dunk or swish around.  Gentle squeeze the water out and then roll it in a towel and let it sit to soak up more water.  The hang it to dry and it will be fine.  Don't size up, order your regular.  Honestly, I do not understand all this "size up" or "size down" stuff.  Steam any wrinkles out or use the rayon setting on your iron.  I never iron anything these days but I do occasionally use my steamer.

I have a lot of rayon tops.  I hand wash cold and lay flat or hang to dry.  I wash my tops after each wearing.  Takes 10 minutes to wash it in the bathroom sink - let it dry over night.

Yes - they need to be ironed.  Be careful about the temperature.  Rayon can't take a hot iron.  Check the setting on your iron.
