windows 7 upgrade question

Hi

I had an experence with a dell tech yesterday that was very good even tho they werenot able 2 fix my dell soft ware issues after working thr dell chat and dell connect 4 almost 2 hrs there seems 2 be know fix severel people i have talked 2 inc dell techs say it is more of a vista problem than any thing they suggested reformating but couldnt garentee that that would fix it ethier i staeted asking questions about windows 7 i was told my pc was a perfect canidate 4 it and would absulutly fix things i have the dell hybred that was the tsv 2 yrs ago just b4 win 7 release but b4 they offered the free upgrade ny my question is this i no there is and upgrade disk and a full virsion disk would all i need is the win 7 upgrade disk to up grade is this correct any info would be helpful
