Microsoft Edge is the new browser for Windows, next year Microsoft will no longer be supporting (updates/fixes) for IE (Microsoft's browser Internet Explorer).
I'm lovin' it!
@KingstonsMom The problem is that antivirus software such as McAfee does not work with Edge.
@Mindy D - That's strange because my new desktop came with McAfee. I don't use that, because we have Norton, so I uninstalled it. It may be that you have to make sure you disable the Windows Defender that comes with Microsoft, to avoid any clashes.
Norton 360 works perfectly well with Edge.
McAfee & Norton "clash". Use one or the other. I use McAfee with Edge
@Desertdi - I don't know if that advice is meant for me but, as I said, I uninstalled McAfee as soon as I bought my computer. You should never have more than one virus software package.

@Venezia No, not intended for you. Personal experience. I bought this computer and it had Norton installed. I also have McAfee compliments of my provider. The two programs "fought" each other. I deleted Norton.

You really should try Edge, it's so much better than IE and I've been an IE user for many years!
I don't use IE I use Firefox. Been using it for years. I like it because the first version was more like my first love Netscape. I'm a dinosaur that started with Netscape and never made the transition to IE except for in my working life when the company used only Microsoft products.
I did think about trying Edge but am wary about things that are automatically added to my computer.

It's always wise to have at least two different browsers installed on a device. That way if one acts up then you can use the other. One time I had 4 different browsers installed on my desktop. I was test-driving them and then decided to keep two.
