virtual keyboard

I have recently purchased a phone that has a virtual keyboard. I have always had the keypad on my phones. I am having such a time texting or even putting information in. Is there a secret or does it just take time. I am so frustrated with this all and I paid a lot of money for this frustration! Has anyone else had a problem transitioning? {#emotions_dlg.mad}
