can anyone tell me why my printer keeps going off line?

What kind of printer are you using?  Ink or laser?  Manufacturer?  Model?  Wireless or plug in?  

 

First I would check the cable leading from the printer to the computer to see if it is loose.  That may not be it because you are able to get it to work at times, but I would tighten anyway.  

 

Do you have a manual?  Look under troubleshooting. 

 

You can search for your manufacturer and model on the internet.  For example, HP has symptoms and instructions to fix this problem, but you need to look for your model.

 

Also, YouTube might be helpful.

It's losing internet connection.  That can be caused because of the printer itself or your internet.  Does any other device lose its connection?  The first thing I would recommend is to update the printer drivers.  Go to the manufactuor's website and see if there are new updated drivers.  If so, download, install them and see if that fixes the problem.

The 1st thing I do with any internet issue is reset my modem. Good place to start, and with any type of electronic device.
