SilleeMee, go to Tracfone's website. Choose Buy Airtime Service Plan. On next page, choose to add $9.99 30 service days as a one time purchase. On the Checkout page go to the category More for Your Phone and choose 365 Extra Service Days for $49.99. Then you can review your cart and remove the $9.99 One time purchase of 30 days of service and check out. Works like a charm. Kind of sneaky of them to hide it away like this, lol. Hope this helps.

@FluffyNo1

I don't see this...?? Maybe because I already have a auto-refill plan now. Probably need to cancel it first but I'm afraid to do that.

ETA- I found it! Now I need to order it.Smiley Happy

Re: ?? on purchasing Tracfone time

I bought 4000 texts for 20.00 last week from the add ons, I didnt have to do the extra step by putting mins in my cart first. I just did it and my purchase went right thru.

Those add ons are really nice arent they!!    Smiley Happy

@AngelPuppy1, you should buy a yrs service time this way for 49.00 + tax. That way you wouldnt have to deal with it every 2 months and the cost would break down to 4.50 a month or so. Then you can buy mins or texts at your leisure (as you need) with the add ons too. Just an idea!!

This sounds like a great way to go for someone that doesnt use the cell phone often.

Re: ?? on purchasing Tracfone time

I just did this today. Go to the tracfone website and pick a plan with talk, text and data and go to checkout and they will offer a year of service time for 49.99. Then trash the other plan and you can checkout with only the year of service. It worked for me today.

@SeaGal

I didn't know you could do that??  This is a dumb question but how do you get this 49  + tax option?  Thanks!!

Re: ?? on purchasing Tracfone time

Hi @AngelPuppy1,  ok so at tracfone (dot com) you will see the header in blue for choices, click refill/add, then 2 choices appear to put phone # in, click the one on the right. That will take you to mins/plan you want to buy. Choose any plan and put it in your cart, then it will take you to your summary screen for purchase. Look down and you will see service add ons. You will see the 49.00 yr. service, add that to cart THEN delete the mins you put in your cart, then hit pay or whatever it says. Done!!

I just went over to check and it works w/o even having an acct made up.

But having one is nice as its better for keeping track of purchase dates, if you want to activate a new phone yourself, just makes that easier too. I just upgraded my phone and the transfer took 2 mins before my new phone was ready to use, thats it.

(To the posters that said you need to put a plan in first then delete it are correct, I had forgotten I did that!! Thanks)

Re: ?? on purchasing Tracfone time

@AngelPuppy1   I have recently purchase a new LG Tracfone (upgrade from my old LG Tracfone).  I need to activate it before my current minutes expire on 8/15.  I will follow your instruction for that, but how do you transfer your data (phone numbers, pics) from your old to your new phone?  I've heard about Transfer Wizard.  How does that work?  Do you download that to the old phone or the new phone?  TIA!

@SeaGal I bought an upgraded LG Tracfone to replace my old LG Tracfone and I need to activate it before 8/15 when my minutes expire.  I'm sure I can transfer the phone number on their website, but how do you use the Transfer Wizard to bring over my phone numbers and pictures?  Is there a link on Tracfone website?  Do I download it to my new phone or the old one?  TIA for your help, this is my first time doing this!

Hi @2blonde, darn, I cant help with this, I am unfamiliar with the app myself. I was using a lesser brand phone from Evine just because it was cheaper then adding mins the normal way. I knew I was looking for an LG so I didnt have really anything on the interim phone that I couldnt easily transfer just manually.

My best advice would be to start a thread saying something like Using Transfer Wizard or Help With...

I bet someone with knowledge could walk you, me and anyone else that may need help to use it. I know eventually I will too need to know too! Sorry I couldnt be of more help.   Smiley Happy

@AngelPuppy1, I hope you were able to get the year service easy enough. Besides being cheaper per month going that route it seems like it would just be one less thing to worry about thru out the year!
