Apple is introducing  new products in March. You may want to wait to buy.  Do you own an iPad? Could this product be a bridge to the Apple world.

@goldensrbest, I would wait until the new products are released, too.   Often, the older devices will go down in price.   At any time, though, you can enter the model number or name into a search on the internet and see how old that model is and you can compare prices.  I like to buy from Apple.com, since I've found their prices to be comparable -- and the last time I bought a new iMac and an iPad I waited until the summer tax-free weekend (I think most states offer it) and I also bought it with my Discover Card using the "Discover Deals" program which offers additional cashback.   So I saved some money that way.   The Apple.com site does have a few limited group discounts (such as educators, students, etc.), and they have an interest-free payment plan for those who qualify.

The support from Apple is top-notch, whether from the Apple Stores or from Apple.com -- one thing they will do is help you through the steps in moving things from the older device to the new one.  There's a "Migration Assistant" built into the new Apple computer, and pretty good instructions on the Apple website, too.   (You won't need your Windows-based anti-virus software, but there is some available for Macs and most of it is free.)

hth, and I hope you enjoy whatever you choose!Smiley

@goldensrbest  I just went to Best Buy and looked at their Protection Plan.  They're selling the Apple Care protection plan, which is the same one that you get when you buy from Apple.  It looks like you would still need to go to the Apple store for service.

AppleCare support is via the stores or the website or their toll-free phone support.Smiley
