Re: need help on this message I get

If this is a computer and not a tablet, a quick shutdown typically means an issue with the CPU cooling fan. If a CPU isn't adequately cooled, it'll literally burn itself up, so many motherboards and even some CPU's now include an automatic shutdown in the event of a CPU fan malfunction. They've included temperature sensors that prevent the meltdown of the CPU.

Pretty much every computer has a small fan with cooling fins that sits atop the CPU to prevent it burning up. For some high end, high powered CPU's even that's not enough and they'll use watercooling where a coolant liquid is circulated through a heat exchanger to take the heat away from the CPU.

A quick shutdown typically would be a sign of a failure of the CPU cooling, or in the case of a laptop/tablet perhaps a battery issue. Trying to operate the device plugged in can determine if the issue is battery related. If the device works while plugged in but fails under battery use, then it's likely a battery issue.

That's about all I can tell you based on the limted information given. You could be having a hard drive issue where the computer isn't finding the hard drive and stops after the BIOS and POST is performed, but they don't generally shut down, they just sit there. Without knowing what error message you're getting, we're just guessing.
