mouse issue

Lately, when I go to click on a word I misspelled to correct it, or if I want to copy and paste or cut and paste something, the mouse 'grabs' the whole word, or line and it turns blue and highlights it, and it won't let go !

Hard to describe, but it's slowing me down and making me nuts.

What is this?
