I plug the camera into my IMac and a folder comes up and I take the photos out of the folder and put on my desktop. I have deleted everything as well as the empty folder but it still says 'memory full' (not internal memory full)....could I just need a new card?
I'll take the card out and see what happens. Thank you for your assistance.
Yeah, it sounds like it's not clearing them off the card when you put them on your Mac. See if there is a setting somewhere when you copy them that says to delete after copying. Or when you are sure all the pictures got copied right then reformat the card in the camera to clear it. I don't automatically delete my card when I copy them anymore since 1 time it messed up copying them. I wait until I know I got them all then I delete my card.

I always used to feel pretty confident about electronics and messing around with things but any more I don't have a clue......
We don't have a Samsung camera but all the cameras we have had that use an SD card usually have a: menu/settings/memory=choose between internal or memory card
The Fuji my wife now has automatically switches to SD memory mode when a card it put into the card slot. The SD then becomes the "default" memory setting. Most cameras that have memory cards slots also have an option that comes up asking "format card" or something like that.
How big a card can be used in this camera? Never mind I see you can use a 4G card. Seems to me if you put in a card something would become and option as to which memory the user chooses. If you can put a card it and it shows the memory is going to the card I wouldn't even fool around with the internal memory, but that is just me.
I looked up this camera and it has little memory, only 17mb Flash memory which nowadays is pretty small.
The camera is old that is why the memory is probably so small. I think I have looked at every setting but I have yet to see anything about memory settings, I'll keep looking. I might throw in the towel and buy new but it's like my check book when I reconcile the account, I want to find that penny that is throwing me off!

I just had this problem with my Fuji digital camera. Took it to my local Dodd camera store and explained the problem. The nice lady that waited on me explained all I needed to do was to "format" my camera; she said that often when pictures are deleted "manually" although the picture disappears sometimes it remains in the memory card. She pulled out my memory card and was able to determine that there were about 70 pictures and offered to place them on disk for me if I wanted.
The cost was $2.50 and I said yes, even though these pictures were already on my computer, there were pictures of family members from almost 10 years ago. So she copied these pictures on to a CD, then formatted my memory card for me.

Have you been in your camera's menu? There is an option to format the card. You need to look at everything listed in the menu until you find it.

My Canon has a menu button right on the camera. Yours should too.

She did post the model and I posted the link to the manual, but it didn't come out clickable.
